Effective Bedding for most animals - You can expect Handler's Choice Premium Bedding pellets to last considerably longer than traditional bedding.Getting StartedRemove existing bedding, cleaning out stall completely down to the flooringFor optimum results use six to eight 40lb bags of Handler’s Choice Premium Bedding pellets for a 10x10 ft. stall or approximately three pounds per square foot.Set up a bedded area by spreading Handler’s Choice pellets evenlySpread Handler's Choice pellets evenly a couple of inches deep across the stall or make a bedded area to accommodate your horse’s routine. When you initially set up the stall, you must lightly mist the pellets then rake to mix. Once opened, Handler's Choice pellets will have a fluffy consistency.AfterBeforeMaintenanceStall Maintenance Clean the manure out daily with a manure fork (apple picker), which easily separates it from the bedding material. You can either remove wet bedding daily or turn it. Use a square nosed shovel to remove it and then scatter a small amount of Handler's Choice pellets back in. Daily removal of the urine saturated material provides an extra step toward reducing bacteria, keeping flies and insects away and extending the life of the bedding. Turned bedding dries and eliminates odor naturally; should you choose to turn it. On a weekly basis add additional bedding as needed you will probably not need to add more than one bag per week depending on your horse, the size of the stall and climate you live in. Barns in wet climates or seasons will require more bedding than drier climates.Re-Bedding the StallHandler's Choice pellet bedding material will last considerably longer than traditional bedding.
